Transfers

Application forms can be submitted online during the filing period. See more information about transfer types below.

NOTE: SBPSD cannot accept emailed, faxed, or photos of applications. Applications are available online.

***Forms will only be accepted online from January 22, 2024, through March 15, 2024. No LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Interdistrict Transfer Process

Once received, parent(s)/Guardians(s) will be informed of the application outcome via mail.  

For San Bruno residents wishing to transfer to a different school district (Interdistrict Transfer out of San Bruno): Please fill out the Interdistrict Transfer Request form and submit it to the San Bruno Park District Office.  Forms are processed and approved according to adopted Board Policy criteria.  

For residents of other districts wishing to attend school in San Bruno (Interdistrict Transfer into San Bruno):  You must first obtain approval from your home district via their Interdistrict Transfer process.  Once your application is approved, the home district will forward a copy of the approved application to the San Bruno Park School District.  Forms are processed and approved according to adopted Board Policy criteria.

  • Transfer applications will not be accepted after the closing of the filing period.

  • Approvals are based on space availability, according to school board policy.

  • Continuing students may use this application to renew an InterDistrict transfer from a previous year.

  • There are no updates regarding waitlists except to offer placement. Please do not call regarding the waitlist.

  • Waitlists generally close on or around September 11th and do not carry over from year to year. 

Intradistrict Transfer Process

Intradistrict transfers are For San Bruno residents who would like their child(ren) to attend a school within the San Bruno Park School District other than their assigned school.  No forms will be processed while the application window is open. 

New students must register at their assigned school of residence.

Due to the reconstruction of the school boundaries, the following IntraDistrict priority criteria are as follows;

  1. Students requesting to return to their current school of enrollment

  2. Siblings

  3. District Employees

  4. Transfer decisions are determined by space availability

  5. Late applications will not be accepted.
