Student Services
San Bruno Park School District’s Student Services Department supports students with programs and services to meet individual needs, which encompasses health including social/emotional/behavioral health, attendance, discipline, and the transfer process.
Grants from Peninsula Health Care District (totaling over one million dollars) have assisted the District in funding support for a Student Health Center/Wellness Coordinator who works closely with our schools to better engage parents in the importance of good health and good attendance equating to student success.
The District provides an “in-house” team of specialists in the areas of positive behavior intervention, small group counseling and conflict resolution, and individual counseling and guidance. The team, comprised of mental health clinicians, behavior therapists, psychologists, and counselors, provides direct, individual support to students as well as classroom and teacher support.
Students in foster care represent one of the most vulnerable and academically at-risk student groups enrolled in California schools. The California Department of Education (CDE) monitors the educational outcomes for foster youth and engages with multiple state agencies and non-profit organizations to ensure these students receive the support and services they need.
The Foster Youth Services provides support services to foster children who suffer the traumatic effects of displacement from family and schools and multiple placements in foster care. Foster Youth Services increase the stability of placements for foster children and youth. These services are designed to improve the children's educational performance and personal achievement.
